Off Grid With 9 Solar Panels. The off grid system just runs my computer so far. The solar panels do make a lot of electricity. I have a big computer. The inverter uses a lot of electricity also. I normally just keep that off when I’m not using it. This is the second day of running with the 9 solar panels and the last two batteries are fully charged and the battery bank just got up to 14 volts.

I just turned on the inverter and the voltage went down to 13.5 volts. I bet it uses a kilowatt per day. 1,000 watts is a lot of juice.

The 9 solar panels make 905 watts per peak sun hour. I have trees in the way for half of the day so I think that I’m making two peak sun hours or about two Kw (kilowatts) I would be happy with 2 Kw per day average.

The summer sun is slowly slipping away and that will make a big difference.
